We got all ready and Amber left to go pick up her niece and a friend of hers that were going to babysit for us. I stayed at home with Jakey and finished getting myself ready. I went outside to give Amber her wallet because she forgot it, and watched her drive away and then turned my attention to all the neighborhood kids that were playing out in front of our house and up and down the street. One of them kicked a big green playground type ball and it went off his foot a little weird and flew into the antenna sticking up on the back of my car near the trunk. I groaned as I realized that the antenna was bent. I ducked inside to check on Jakey then went out to survey the damages.
Meanwhile the kid who kicked the ball was near hysterics, apologizing up and down and left and right. As I neared my car I could hear a popping sound and I was like "oh no". The tip of the antenna slammed into the rear window and put a nice hole in it, and the rest of the window was slowing playing rice crispies (snap, crackle, pop) and making a nice design. It actually did look (and sound) pretty cool.

Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the temple. But we were able to go out on a date, which we haven't been able to do for awhile. And I've got someone to help me move a bunch of rocks that I've needed to move for the last year or so.
If you see a Honda driving around with a dark blue (looks black) hood and plastic taped to the car as a back window, it's just me. Honk and wave!

Seen this happen before...it is kind of fun to pick at the glass...until you realize it's your car.
Ouch! No fun.
